Academic Year

Universities and colleges run the classes from September to the end of April or beginning of May.

The winter session is of two terms. 1st term is from September to December and 2nd term, from January to April.

A few summer studies are offered between May and August.

Credit System in Canada

All universities follow a standard credit system.

Bachelor’s:

3-5 credits per course and 90 to 120 credit hours are required to earn the degree.

Master’s:

3 to 4 credits per course and 30 or more credit hours are needed for Master’s degree in Canada.

The GPA (the grade point average) is followed by The Canadian education system. GPA is a scale from 0.0 to 4.0. 4.0 is A grade and 0.0, F grade.
